Paid for the PT 7 tonight and will bring it home tomorrow. Hopefully it will be an operational unit with a little clean up. It doesn't sound like they have (or can find)any additional sickle bars for it. That's a bummer. So, where is the least expensive place to buy one of those? I will need the head also. Just can't imagine that I can cut hay without having a spare. The good news is cutting hay is months away!

We don't have a spare for our 1014+2 and we get along just fine. Has bolt in sections and I have no problem pulling the sickle out in the field and doing a quick repair. Just last week I replaced a few in the field, including the overlap kit for the twin sickle.

Since you probably dont have much to cut,a 2nd sickle is probably not needed. Just service it before cutting.Check and replace any dull/broken sections before next use.Like said,I also had a 1014,and a PT 12. never had an extra for either one. Changeing to section bolts in advised.Shoup Manufactureing will have replacement sickles.
