I know you had said something about having new slides made for your NH 68. Somebody had suggested buying one new one and having it copied,but at $128.00 a piece that ain't cheap. I was going to tell you that if you wanted one for someone to use as a pattern I have one. I had four slides made by a friend of mines brother in law. I said I wanted them made out of hardwood...he had the new ones made in three days,but he made them out of mahogany. While mahogany is classified as a hard wood it is one of the softer hardwoods so I was afraid to use them. So I have four really nice mahogany baler slides. I'm having another set made out of oak,but if you want one of these to take to a cabinet shop or somewhere and get you some made you are more than welcome to one. I'll give you one just pay the shipping is all I ask. I can post a pic if you want or if you aren't interested that is ok too. Just trying to help a fellow farmer out.

Those slides usually are made out of hard Maple.

Hey Bill, what part of Virginia are you located. If it is in the western part of the state, you might try to find some black locust, otherwise hickory or white oak if you are going to use a local wood. Good luck!
