billion seeder

Looking at a billion ss10 seeder. 10 ft 3pt mount. 2200 lbs empty. Will a 7710 ford mfwd lift it, or would I need front weights?

You won't have a problem.I got a lot less tratcor that I put an 8' on .I also put it on a 4230 JD without any extra wieght.Good luck.

Then again... an 8' Brillion is a lot less than a 10' Brillion isn't it...
I've spent a couple of hours in the seat of a 7710. If that 2200# is hung close it will handle it. If it's way out behind the tractor it will require a full front rack of 1000# to keep the front end planted and will challenge the system's lift capacity without a boost cylinder. I suspect the Brillion will fall closer to the middle of the range and require some front weight to keep control on hills... at least to maintain control in most people's comfort zone..

And to answer your question Rod my 8 is an older machine that does weigh 2300 empty. The newer Brillions are lighter do to lack of some frame castings that aren't used anymore.

Regardless, he's still talking about hanging 22-2400# on the back of that tractor.
I'll be blunt about this... I've spent over 6000 hours in the seat of the exact tractor he's talking about. I run a 4 bottom mounted plow on it that weighs 2150#. To carry that plow safely up a grade this 7710 is carrying 575# of suitcase weight plus loaded fronts that add somewhere in the range of 600-700# more. Without the loaded fronts and just the suitcase weight I could pick the front end of the tractor up with ONE hand, without effort. Now granted the plow hangs MUCH further behind than I suspect the Brillion would... the weight is about the same... so I suspect to stay in the comfort zone with the Brillion... he'd probably want a bit of weight.

Not mounted.. They're all PT around here. Work with mounted sprayers that are a similar weight tho... Flat ground is fine. Hills require caution without weight.

cutting hay, hauling bales, pulling wagons. Just kind
of an all around deal. Someday I should try to figure
out how much weight is on the tractor when I pull the
bale mover. Six bales, 1000 lbs each..four in front of
the axle, and two behind, with a gooseneck hitch.
Front end is the tiniest bit light, but not bad enough
to cause problems.

I run an old 8 ft 3 point brillion that I think is 1800 lbs, my 50 hp kubota lifts it fine. That same kubota barely keeps its front wheels down for a KV AB85 3 bottom plow with spring trips and coulters. The brillion is close to the tractor.

My bigger massey doesn't even notice the brillion.
