IH Mccormick Ensilage cutter parts needed

Hello-

Does anyone have a junk IH mccormick ensilage cutter that they would be willing to sell parts from? This is the blower that you feed whole corn stalks or hay into and it chops it as it is being blown into a silo.

I am specifically looking for parts from the transmission that controls feed rolls and conveyor. To narrow it down even farther, I am looking for the forward gear, clutch, and clutch fork inside this gearbox. One other part I am looking for is the knives that bolt to the flywheel. IH part number is 605LB, these are for a Mccormick #9 ensilage cutter. Models that have the gearbox I am looking for are:

Mccormick #5 ensilage cutter
Mccormick #7 ensilage cutter
Mccormick #9 ensilage cutter

Mccormick #10E cutter
Mccormick #12E cutter
Mccormick #12H cutter
Mccormick #16E cutter
Mccormick #16H cutter

Let me know if anyone can help. If needed I can post a picture of the gearbox. Attached is a picture of what the machine looks like. Thanks!

Do you not have the parts? If you had a machine shop could probably rebuild them or make new ones. Any of those around would still be in use. Mostly Paypec around here. Probably not much different. I know Amish friend makes new gears.

I have one just like yours I was thinking of selling, I got it from an old retired farmer and thought I would restore it someday but I doubt that will ever happen. It had sat outside for a while, don't know what the mechanical condition might be. Located in western PA. Email me if interested or questions.

Thanks for the replys so far! The forward gear inside the transmission is cast iron, and part of it is cracked off. At some point in the machines life, the clutch was slid to the good reverse gear and locked in place against it, and a idler pulley was relocated to put the chain on top of the drive sprocket so it would turn forward. I would like to fix it the way it should be if possible. Searching the internet with part numbers, I just found the clutch and clutch fork. Still need the forward gear.

FarmerJohn-

I am located in Wisconsin, otherwise I would like to look at your ensilage cutter. If you are willing to sell parts from it and ship, let me know. Thanks!

If you have only part of that gear I am prety sure that The friends machine shop could make one out of steel instead of cast. This is in Ohio for one.

Thanks Leroy!

I am going to take it apart this weekend. My parts book shows that the reverse and forward gears are different part numbers. However, they look the same. Maybe I can flip flop them on the shaft? Will have to let you know what I find. Thanks for the info!

(quoted from post at 08:19:37 10/10/14) Did you check with the Parts Depot?

Mike

Mike-

Yes, tried that already. I can get the clutch and clutch fork through the Parts Depot from an IH dealership in Wisconsin, so I am going to get those 2 parts at least. The gears nobody has. Thanks!
