Ford corn planter Model 12-88

Just purchased a Ford Model 12-88 2 row corn planter for a reasonable price. Fertilizer bins in good shape, planter had been kept inside. Looking for a manual for it. Is it relatively the same as the Ford 309 planter, and can the 309 plates work in it.

When I need a manual,The first place I 'look' is the
dealer.Most dealers can get reprints(or originals)
easily.If unsuccessful,then Jensales and ebay.

Did the planter come with seed plates? It uses
Dearborn plates, which can be hard to find & pricey.
You will find a manual posted on the other Ford
tractor website. Look under the Manuals section.
Due to "issues" between this site and the other, I
can't type the complete name. Try the N ....
Tractor ..... Club.

Thanks Rick, for the info. The planter came with 2 sets of plates.

And you probably will need at least a dozen to find a size that will work with what ever seed you get.
