IH 300U and UF20 plow problems..............

I need some help. I recently acquired a UF-20 plow for my IH 300U. I have all new shares, moldboards, shins. The coulters are not new. Those came off my 311 plow. The coulters are the Osmundson curved. I am going to replace however to a straight coulter.

Plowed last weekend and this weekend. I seem to have a couple problems. plow seem to what to drift sometimes. Sometimes it plows great, straight and cuts a great furrow. I have played with the 3rd point arm (lengthen and shorten) to get it in the ground, I leveled it. besides not always trailing correctly, sometimes the rear will not get in the ground and is not level.

I have obtained an owners manual and have tried to follow it.

My question is - is there something simple I am missing? Something on the tractor? It has the traction control set-up.

Any help is greatly appreciated....

I have a 300u and the f-20 plow, all original. It does not have 'traction control'(actually draft control) style fast hitch. You should have the fast hitch with the leveling crank on the left side and the top link mounts to the rotating cross shaft in the lower hole if it has two holes. The top link should be 26,1/2 inches and you crank the left arm down 5/8 or 3/4 inch from level.
Also the float pins in lower part of fast hitch should set not to float(upper holes,I believe),and you do not use down pressure(the large pin is removed from left top side lift arm).
The rear wheels should be spaced so they are 72" wide outside. The front axle should be set out with 2 holes showing(you can get by with 1 hole and only the right side if you choose). If you have to set put the front axle, you have to set your toe in correctly.
If you can post a pic, I can point out what I mean. Mark
