Wanting to clip back a newly seeded red clover catch to prevent snow load damage. Looking at a used 8' MX6 which is in good shape. Meed at least 8' to clear tractor tires. What's the good/bad opinions of this mower. Have a 6' Bush Hog that won't clear the tires and the discharge will windrow and don't want that.

Thanks Peter. Wow,I should have picked up on that.just took the salesman's word on the width and am not familiar with JD equipment. Thanks again.

Yep he is right.. I have the MX7 version. Have had for 12 years or so.. LOVE IT..Good mower..Pull mine with my 3020..
MX6=6 foot
Mx7=7 foot and so on..

try a Bush Hog brand , they are very good and a lots cheaper than a John Deere here in Florida. Good luck Amo

We ran an MX8 for years mowing roadsides with very few problems. Main one was we had to put new seals in a gearbox. Mower did a nice job. Last summer replaced it with a Woods DS96, which is the same setup. The Woods cost less and does a better job. After owning both, I would choose the Woods.
