two plow - two way roll over plows

This past year I have been working on a I.H. Model 39 plows. When I bought them I had some messig parts. So I have been find parts for them. Just three weeks ago I had found a metal shop in town that knew what I needed in mold boards. sO I got two of them made up. I do know the back are painted Blue. What color is the front of the plow painted?
Thanks Brent

I would suggest black if this is gonna be just for show and never put in the ground.

If you are gonna use it ... smear grease over the face to keep it from rusting and make it scour easier. OR leave it be and let the surface "rust".

The face will NOT stay painted if you are using the plow.

Just my humble opinion.

They were black. As was said, the instant it went into the ground, the black coating scoured off.You could paint em 'chrome',to look as if it was plowing....

Are these plows just for show??? The reason I am asking is that moldboards are heat treated on the outside and soft in the center. That way they wear better but do not break for being too hard.

So if your moldboards are just regular steel they will wear out faster than factory ones.

They did a nice job making them for you. They look really good.

As for colors they came painted black.

Yep,moldboards are laminated for the above reason. But for use on an occational use/plowday,they will last a lifetime
