#30 Bale Ejector

Hi Guys! Started having problems with the kicker on my 336 baler. The pan hits the oncoming bale when it tries to return home. This happens every 3 or 4 bales. I checked the latch springs, their OK. The 2 little "angle iron" ramps guide the bale up onto the pan haven"t slipped out of adjustment. Do I need to adjust the trip so it kicks sooner? It always worked good before.THANKS! Jim

Before you adjust anything, take a real good look at the linkage of the trip mechanism. I had the same problem several years ago and I had my father bale and I walked along side of the kicker and watched it work. The bale would hit the trip and ride overtop of it. By the time all the slop in the linkage was took up, the pan triped and kicked the bale and the pan would come back and hit the next bale. I inspected and found that all the connecting point had roll pins in them and they were either worn or broke. I replaced all these and it was a night and day differnece. Keep the trip mechanism in the middle of the adjustments.

Actually, I'm thinking the bale length might have got changed, if the set screw clamp gets dropped, it may have move. You could shorten that up, etc. But sounds like the kicker is set for a different length bale. Try to check see if the holes you are using match your bale length.
