I got this plow a few days ago at an auction, ( I collect plows)and wanted to restored this one,(properly "lol") but have no idea who made It, this one has me stumped. there is nothing on the beam ,one thing I did notice is all the part numbers start with "P", there is no foot lift on this one.

thanks

I am also interested to know the brand of this plow I just found one in a woods last week and all the numbers I found also started with P and I have yet to find the brand name.

Daynee, "bing" is my search engine on my computer.
I typed JOHN DEERE SULKY PLOW into search line and a bunch of pictures of JD sulky plows come up. I think in looking that is what you may have. I would also post this question over on John Deere section here on YT. Someone over there will probably know if Deere used B as a prefix in part numbers back then.

As far as I know even way back when anything Deere would have the "Leaping Deer" casting marks. It looks "Oliver-ish" to me. That oil can casting should be a dead give away to anyone that knows for sure what kind it is. Some of the Parlin & Obendorf (sp) stuff the ended up IHC (iirc) started with a P, but most was PO.

I'd pull the moldboard off and see whats on the back. FOr that matter, if it is a JD, the casting mark should be visible on the back of the moldboard without dismounting it.

This looks almost identical (OTHER than the tool box) to a John Deere which I own. I suggest you look VERY CAREFULLY on top of the main beam immediately in front of the seat. I suspect you'll find it says: "John Deere".

Further, paint may be obscuring the words John Deere on the top of the beam in front of the seat. I've also been told the "drop" in the front of the main beam usually means it is a John Deere as others usually had straight beams.
