Rubber flaps on New Idea snapping rolls

"](quoted from post at 18:33:46 09/18/14) Cool! =) I never heard of that but i knew the ford dearborn pickers had either quartz coated upper section on the snapping rolls,or rubber coating or a rubber sleave or just plain cast iron.54 years old and learned something new. Like to see a pic of that.The previous owner of my NI#7 did some welding beads on the snapping rolls to assist the stalks going thru. Never thought of using some rubber on there. Depending on thickness might have to make one with a piece of intertube or old belting or tire. THanks
