I guess you had to have cut tobacco by hand to really appreciate what's going on with this machine.
I had heard about machines being used to cut tobacco, but I could never believe that it would work, as I thought it would break all the leaves off the plant.
they are losing some leaves, but with poundage allotments, it would not matter so much, they could just plant more acres.
back in the day, we could only have so much acreage and that was all you could grow, so you did not want all the leaves broken off, you wanted all the leaves possible.
However, it does appear to work and be a labor savor.
I am so old that back in the day we still had to sucker the dark fired tobacco: top to bottom three times before cutting (cutting was splitting and hanging on the stick)
