Yup,Insecticide boxes.Obsolete.These days with GMO(BT,triple stack....),'hi-rate' treated seed, they're no longer needed. Our local seed/farm chemical guys say they havent sold even one bag in a while. Can you even still buy granular insecticides?

They were obsolete.

The worms are starting to like that gmo stuff.

Eastern farmers including Iowa are using insecticide again.

I am one of them, for wire worms and cut worms. GMO seed doesn't have the broad range insecticide does.

When I bought my Cyclo the seller had removed all the insecticide boxes. When I asked about them he was surprised I was interested but I was of the opinion that if I was buying the old planter then EVERYTHING he had should come with it. He had the fertilizer openers on a pallet, insecticide boxes and some spare parts. I just figured that if need be I could maybe use those to for something other than insecticide OR, as is the case, what was old is new again. OR...I might plant something non-GMO and want them. Just saying...the word obsolete may be obsolete in the world today.

25 to 50% of my corn acres are NONgmo.I have a growing clientell for that kind of corn.I hope to go 100% nongmo. But it's getting hard to find ground that hasnt been corned for years. So I need to go back to useing insecticides.BTW,I still have my 'Gandy' setup in the shed to be reinstalled.

Some areas with certain bugs the insecticide is making a comeback.

Also in heavy insect years, turns out the Bt corn every insect needs to take a bite before it does, and the corn can get pretty eaten up. So they do insecticides again in some areas.

There were also granular herbicides that could be banded in the row.I had 10" banders on my planter and little harrows behind the press wheels.I used Amiben for soybeans and Sutazine on corn. Then cultivated the middles.
