I have a wire tie square baler that has recently started tying multiple times on one bale. It doesn"t do it on every bale but every so often it will trip to tie and just keeps tying until I have a big wad of wire. We just recently purchased this baler and are not familiar with it, we were able to bale close to 700 bales so far with it and now it is messing up. Has anyone had this problem?

I'm not familiar with a JI Case baler but the knotter mechanisms are all very similar. What I think is happening is the mechanism that is intended to catch the trip dog after tying cycle is completed is not disengaging trip dog from knotter clutch hub.

Hi, agree with Tx Jim. Also some springs around the bale length mechanism.

My brother had a similar problem with a case-ih all twine 445 baler he bought from a neighbor that sat in a shed for 5 or so years. The trip dog was hanging up. He just sprayed it with his favorite lubricant and it worked.
