Replacement sickle mower sections

Can you replace double point sections with single point triangular sections. Im guessing I ordered the wrong thing. Anyway, now, I need a triangular section, and all ive got is this pack of old double sections. There not the same as the end sections, I don't think, but im not sure. The holes line up anyway.

Simple answer is yes. Section are sort of coded as to what they fit by an A or B or C etc. If you have A section the B ones will not fit right etc

So you wanted a typical sickle section, and got the 2 pointed type instead as my pictures?

The two pointed ones are Tiger Jaw type, and work better with the Tiger Jaw guards.

(The end section type will have a regular size triangle, with a smaller baby triangle off on the side, and not what you got?)

The TJ will fit and will work for you with regular guards, but they are weaker, and a bit too aggressive in grass and fine stems. Probably work fine on a combine cutting dry crops, but will chip in rocks easy.

Most of the time I would return those and get the bigger single point, but not sure of your exact use?

Paul, I had these for several years before I needed one, and found out I had the wrong ones. I found a Orshelins store here has them. I go over there tonight.

The guards and sections must match. Double sections on single guards....half the cutting edges have nothing to cut against. If combining beans they"ll shatter the beans out of the pods. In grass they"ll just plug.

Orshenlins has Military discount on Tuesday and old folks discount on Wednesday just to let you know

yep, that's what I thought. Finally found the sections. Headed out to get them now. Maybe the pitman straps also.
