4600 Heston Needles

I had my needles both bust and agco had some I picked them up(150mi) brought them back and they were wrong they are 4790 needles. They don"t have any 4600 near. The nearest are 1000mi Do any other brand or models interchange? The agco dealer is realy not helpful here. They are about 100mi from me. Any good ideas on used needles?

Inline baler? Not sure what model it may be but they were sold as case balers yet.

I have straightened needles on a case I-H 8530 inline baler twice. I have a template that I used. I would be MORE concerned as to why the needles broke. Is the carriage still striaght? I did have to rebuild one of those also. I found agco and Case I-H no help at all when its time to repair knotters. They love to sell you a new one. Or send their shop man who has less experiance than me to repair it. They said they would only stand behind their 79.99 an hour repair for 50 bales. Good luck,,, Al

I think the 4600 was sold by CaseIH as the 8540 for a couple years before the 8545 (Hesston 4590) replaced it.

Yes it is a inline 14x18 bale. Agco is the massey dealer around here. They want 367 each and they are a week out. I"ll finish with my 124 mf baler the one that was not going to be used any more;) If you guys know of any used baler parts places let me know. I have tried wortington, all states, one in Ohio can"t remeber the name right now. I am in Wyoming so where ever I get them they have to ship them in.

It's all the same company and inventory is tied together between brands, so if you have an MF, Hesston, or Challenger inline, the parts come from the same computer system, from the same warehouse. CaseNH on the other hand might have something in their system from the days when they sold inlines, but they give stocking preference to NH products these days.

They have them 1000 mi away? What's the big deal? Call with a CC in hand, pay over the phone, plop on courier... install tomorrow morning. No driving, no fuss, no muss.

Jon, I recently had to jump through hoops to get knotter parts for my Hesston 4550 in-line baler....so I know your pain. I called Livingston Equipment in Chickasha Oklahoma (largest Hesston dealer in the world) and they do not have them. However, they said the Agco warehouse in Waco Texas does have them. He priced them at $318.00 each, plus shipping which would be about $30.00 total if direct shipped from Waco to me. Those in-line balers are so dependable that it is going to be hard to find used parts for them. 'Like looking for a needle in a hay stack. 'No pun intended.

Hey Jon, I"ve got good news and bad news. I found you "ONE" used needle. It is at Cooks Salvage in Clinton Missouri. Their number is 660-885-9201. I told them I was looking for the needles for a Hesston 4600 in-line square baler for a friend and they said they had the one needle. He even went and checked and it was on the shelf. He and I both got a laugh out of it as in how much good is ONE needle? He priced it at $75.00 He also gave me two other salvage yard numbers to check with: Hilltop Salvage in Lamar Mo, 417 398-2816 and Mike's Equipment (out in Kansas) 800-543-2535. Maybe you could weld one of your broken needles back together?? Good luck to you.

Thanks for the info! I will try the places today even one needle at $75 is better than two at $316 or more:) I have to check the timing when I get the needles I think it got on tooth forward on the time. Then the needle check stop arm plate that hooks up to the needle carrage was fliped over that is why it did not stop the plunger from busting the needles. I bought it this year and baled 50 ton or so before I had a problem. Sorry if I did not call everything the right thing up above:)
