International 100 spreader

I also have a IH 100 spreader that I am hauling in. I can't see it's condition because it is surrounded by weeds. What would one of these units be worth for a parts machine or to restore?

The 100 and 200 were, IMO, the very best shredding and spreading units ever built. Very even spread even in winter packed manure. The problem is parts and that the apron chain is a type "S" and not a 67H like everything else. Very hard to find parts. In good shape I'd pay $5-600 for one. If horse drawn I'd pay 1/2 again as much. If like new $1500 wouldn't scare me, but most people don't want anything to do with ground drive or hard to get parts for equipment.

Probably good to remember I'm a cheapskate and everyone tells me my pricing is 15-20 years behind the times.

You are way low on pricing on good McCormick 100 spreaders. $1,000 is more dealer asking price foe the 2 whel model and if could find the 4 wheel model would be more.100 is a very small 50 bu. size spreader and the only spreader ever manufactured of that size by any mager company. The 200 is not as high a priced spreader but any working spreader in under the 80 bu sise is up to around a thousand, 4 wheel more.

Prices always vary from region to region but I think actual sales are the best indicator. I took an interest in having a 100 spreader about three years back.

First spreader I found was on Craig's List and I bought it for $200. It needed one rim replaced, so I found one used and riveted it on to the hub. No paint to speak of but a complete, working spreader.

About two weeks later I went to a large garage sale about two miles from home and was walking thru it when I realized I was standing in front of another 100 spreader. Better shape than #1 as I was able to drive it home. No paint to speak of but complete and it works. Asking $225, we settled on $175.

Having cornered the market, I haven't really looked since but did see a nice one at RPRU sell at auction. Believe it was in the $1-2000 range. You should know if skirts are missing the spreader is seriously compromised in value. I have original advertising materials for this series as well as manuals. I know of two spreaders in the series that have more than two wheels. These are both in the group listed as for either tractor OR horse. The 40 bushel spreader has a caster wheel under the tongue and the 65 bushel model was a full four wheel wagon style with a pan seat in the front. Other than those I only know the the tractor only spreaders which had one axle and two wheels. The 40 bushel tractor model is the 100 spreader that is so popular. Sometimes called a "Cub" spreader and very popular with that group of collectors. That is all I know and I don't claim to be the world authority.
