Breaking it down in the rain to bring pieces to sandblasting & coating yard

All of the spacers look original except one 9 " (all the others are 7 1/4) and a couple of short spools

Axles look ok but will need clean re-threading

I cant wait till you get it done to see how it looks. I have a MM disk that was built by Krause that one day I would do the same thing your doing. Maybe seeing one done will get me going to redo mine, Just might work. Your doing a heck of a job taking it apart like that to restore it and you will be proud of the finished job. Bandit

pretty much --frame off !

Around here, 4-row and 6-row equipment in the late 70's and 80's. I was lucky to find something this narrow - 11 ft, to pull behind my 65 hp John Deere.

I won't use it much, but I figured if I invest in a major rebuild now, I can pass it to my son in law and grandson in the future.

@ BanditFarmer

The "Bearing Arm" , the drop down from the Gang Beam down to the Disk Gangs, when assembled properly , the "backside" should be approx. 90 Degrees from the Gang Beam. Look at the 4th page of the 311 Manual.

PS I have received good information from [email protected]

Couv, I have a B-211 Krause disk just like yours!
It had been neglected, and Not maintained when I got it!
1st the Rt Front gang was let run loose and had grooved up the center shaft horribly! had to have a new one made at a local machine shop was about $100, 8 yrs ago or so!
2nd the wing Main Beams where they bolt to the adjustor plates (upper and lower) were let run loose and egg the holes, had to turn the beams around to the opposite end and Re-Drill a new 1in hole on each wing to start anew!!! I put it back together and have used the Pi$$ out of it.
But............... IMO...............
Before you Paint!
This disk is just too Light Duty for my taste!
This brings me to where You are now!!!!
IMO this Disk needs another Bearing Standard and 1set of 1/2 spindles/ Wing or Gang. 4 standards, 4 bearings, 4 sets of 1/2 spindles total!
Just lay out the spacing as it is now and figure a 4th standard in the mix!
My last thought is to fill the entire assembly with saccrete! main plow assembly, and wing beams!!! One will not add that much wt but it will add enough to make it take the ground better if the disk are somewhat dull and the ground is hard!!!
If you know another derelict B model Krause gather it up for parts if you need any, Even if you don't!.
Hope this helps,
Later,
John A.

I originally thought my Disk was a 211, but John @ Krause identified it as a 311. Depending on the gangs are set, will cut somewhere between 11 ft and 13 ft wide.

I like your idea of filling the tubes with sackrete.

What would your advice be about Disk diameters -- 16 " or 18 " ?

I'll be pulling it with a 65 Hp 4wd John Deere. Don't want it too heavy. Land here is Bayou Sand, Loam, to heavy Blue Clay. No hills or rocks in Central Louisiana

When I replaced the disk blades on mine so 25 years ago I put on 20 inch blades because they will make it easer to pull. My disk is 13 1/2 foot and I'm pulling it with a 1550 Oliver diesel and its only 54 hp and it plays with this disk. I would not add any weight to the disk mine has no problem going into the ground in fact I sometimes have to hold it up. Bandit

couv, On the front LH side of the Main Frame, from Center line to the front LH beam support is where my Factory Tag is with Serial # and Model #! Yours may be in a location near that too.
IMO. Run the absolute largest diameter disk you can get away with. The larger the better, last longer. I am with Bandit here! 1/2 inch of clearance is as good as a mile go 20 inch if at all possible! Smooth or Notched. I don't have a dislike of either. Notched disk will penetrate & agitate hard soil better than smooth disk. Smooth can be rolled(sharpened) when dull, where notched can not the Rolled!
Get a good HD thick steel disk not the cheap thinner disk, thickness means strength and that is a necessity.
I still say go find another 311 Krause Disk to use for parts, and add 1 more Bearing Standard to each gang!!!
Hope this helps.

John A.

I have a 10' version of that, thanks for giving me a picture of what it looks like disassembled. I have some broken blades that need replaced.
