ferguson 18 AO-28

I recently picked up this ferguson 18" one bottom plow.
I'm assuming the share point is bent but don't know if it's supposed to be like this. The share is a 660 554 M91. My book lists the following, but not this one.
660 553 M91
660 785 M91
660 786 M91

Any info would help. Thanks, kirk

Great looking old plow,

I never saw one like that made by ferguson in west KY.

Maybe you could heat the point and straighten it out. Be nice to find the counter blade that fits the plow.

Good find, a little TO 20 or 30 could plow like a big boy with that plow.

It must be an earlier model, serial # 1116.
I have other plows and I know the point section is suppose to be bent down slightly for ground suction but the throat clearance of this one is no where near the ones on my 14 or even my 16 bottom plows. I have heard of a deep cut share on the 18 but I'm not familiar with the 18" plow and don't want to heat in up and bend it back when it's suppose to be that way.
I don't know how well it would do behind a TO20/30 because in my ground my ford N has a hard time pulling the 16" plow. One good thing about the single bottom is you don't get trash build up between the frame.

Bent, should be only 1/4" clearance there. And how do you suppose the shares were sharpened without heat, And a lot of the throwaway types early on were sharpened like the blacksmith sharpen type. Lot cheaper then than replaceing.

When you do have a bucket of water handy and if you leave the share on just poor the water over till it stops steeming, if off just dunck the share till steeming stops. Might not last as long as new but for what they cost against a little gas what do you have to loose?
