I have an original JD 30 combine I would like to get working again, but I need to replace the belts. I know belts are not available thru Deere any more. Does anyone know of belts that will work? (i.e. Gates cross reference) Has anyone else undertaken a similar project with a JD pull type combine?

You need to find a JD dealership that the parts dept knows more than how to look up more than YUPPY(city slicker) PARTS!!!!!!!!

JD has the sickle & auger drive belt.
H136963 V-Belt - V-BELT, HC 3175 EL 77.26 USD

JD has the belt for drive for feeder conveyor
P49415 V-Belt - BELT-V, HC 97.76 ADD 82.61 USD

JD has the cylinder drive belt
H21882 V-Belt - BELT-V 121.41 USD

JD has belt for rear beater
P49414 V-Belt - BELT-SEP DRIVE ADD 122.58 USD

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!!! I guess because I sold JD parts off & on for over 21+ years I have no sympathy for parts personnel that don't try to find parts that are still available. It's much easier to state NLA than try to check true parts availability. I also had the privilege if you chose to call it that, of being employed with parts personnel that didn't really want to help a customer but just simply draw a paycheck.

If I offended you please don't bite your tongue.

Ya,I'll keep biting. I get in to way too much trouble when I talk about the service at Deeremart anymore.

I have found more success by getting onto Deere parts and getting the numbers myself for them to look up than by calling and telling them "I have a model 'xx' machine and I need a 'yy' for it." The family-owned dealership I used to use had a parts guy that could find anything, but mother Deere pulled their franchise in favor of a chain-store dealer. Some of their parts people know what they are doing but some do not have a clue, and those guys are the ones you get on the phone.
