John Deere RWA disk adjustment

I recently picked up an 8' John Deere RWA disk from a farmer getting out. I used it this weekend to disk my plot that I plant winter wheat for the cows on. I cant seem to figure out how to level the disk out. The back set of blades are higher that the fronts and dont make enough contact with the ground. Ive adjusted the T handle on the tounge but cant figure out which way to go with it.

All disks tend to ridge some. The RWA seems to be
prone to that. You need to push the hitch down/the
front up/the rear down.Just try it. turn the screw
one way or the other.Look at the result. Pretty
simple.

The RWA disk has only one adjustment and that is the screw leveler adjustment on the front. To raise the rear turn the screw handle clockwise (looking from above). To lower the rear turn the handle counterclockwise. Your drawbar should be approximately 15-17" from the ground for the initial adjustment. These disks do not ridge the ground any more than any other disk, IF properly adjusted and pulled at a reasonable speed. We have 3 of the older RW's and they worked well for us for many years. Mike

The RWA 14 ft I had came from the dealer with a smaller disc blade on the end of the back section.
Never had a problem with ridging with it. It also made the disc 14 ft wide instead of 13 1/2.

The 8' I have has a smaller blade on the outside back as well. I just thought the PO didnt buy enough blades the last time they were changed and used 2 of the old ones.

New JD tandem disks had the option of an added smaller disk called a ''furrow filler" as depicted in photo. Later model disk than RWA had 2'' smaller disk on rear disk shaft plus option of furrow filler.
