Hardi TR500 sprayer, foam compressor

Headed out later to see if I can get it to work. Bought the sprayer with the markers untested but knowing the rest worked. Is there any reason why I cannot just run power to the compressor and see if it blows air? Can't find a manual that matches this specific unit so don't know if it has a lubrication point, etc. The fact that the box had those star head screws makes me think they preferred you stay out of there for some reason. Tips or warnings appreciated.

No advice really, but Hardy is Hardy and nothing else.Best find a dealer(if possible)and get some advice. We had maybe 20 dealers(Mostly Deere)and now have maybe 1(FNH)and Hardy is not a friendly company to get help from.

So far they have been pretty good about pointing me to the correct manuals...but that could change I guess. I just can't figure out how to mount the dang control box. Has one blue and one brown wire coming out of it. Is there a ground? Where the heck do the blue and brown get hooked up?

If its any help to you in Europe generally speaking the brown wire is +ve and the blue wire is -ve so I presume it is the same in Denmark.

I don't believe hardi made most of the marker units. On ours I have jumped 12v to the air compressor and liquid pumps to test. We had a wire go bad from the tractor to the unit. I would disconnect from the tractor first.

I purchased a gps this spring and we really like that, especially around dusk when seeing the foam can be tough in the beans.

Well, it's more info than I had before! I am not familiar with the "ve" part but the +/- part is the same, yes? If I cannot get an answer anywhere I will give that a try first. Realistically, and assuming the box does not ground thru the mounting bracket, one wire has to be a ground and if I take the fool thing apart it should be apparent which it is. Just hate to go that far.

It's a "new to me" sprayer. I am hooking it temporarily to my IH 300U...mostly because it is the only running tractor that is not out on the side of a field somewhere working or getting ready to work. I want to hook it up completely and test all the components. If the foam works I will use it. If not I may look into GPS. I would prefer the foam to work as late in the summer money starts to get a little thin plus it is here and complete. If I can get these wires sorted out I should be able to run all my tests.

It is a Hardi box. Came with the sprayer and pictured in the manual they referred me to. Problem with manual is that they only have a dotted line coming out of the box that represents the power cord and it just says "12V" next to it.

Very helpful these manuals sometimes!

I well remember we bought a foam bout marker called a Devamark made in The UK. When I got it out of the box it had a brown wire and a blue wire fitted with crocodile clips! The idea was to fit it directly to the tractor battery as they did not recommend fitting it to a plug (? ) Anyway I did not like that idea at all so I fitted the ground wire to metal on the tractor then fitted an extra tab to the starter motor solenoid and wired the live to that , plus I fitted an inline fuse on the wire "just in case" . I used it on a Hardi sprayer and a Tive Pneumatic fertilizer spreader. I will tell you a funny story. I had been top dressing a pasture with Ammonium Nitrate and two friends of ours spotted all these white blobs in the field , they went into the field with a couple of bags hoping to fill them up with lots and lots of...... mushrooms! Anyway they asked me what the foam was actually for and after I explained it one of the guys said "Well its funny really, when I spotted them I said to my brother 'I have never seen mushrooms growing in straight lines before!' "
