drive yoke for Massey Harris Ferg rake

Have used this old side del rake for years and the yoke that attaches to the rake side from the drive wheel wore out and broke. Can't weld it, new yoke half is $200. Can't find any salvage yds with wheel drive rakes in mid Mich. Any ideas where to get one other than new? Was counting on Stamms, but they are gone As ever, thanks for your input.

Can you post a pic? If one yoke attaches to something other than a round shaft.....I"m thinking welding a yoke to a disc that could be attached to the wheel end? Might take some machine work.

I'm GUESSING we're talking about a "U" joint???

There's only a handful of manufacturers of those, especially back then.

If you do some research, you should be able to determine if it's a Weasler or Neapco or Blood Brothers or Spicer (etc.) driveline and buy a yoke from a source other than the stealership.

Even if it needs to be "modded" a bit, the cost of a generic yoke plus some reasonable machine shop fees HOPEFULLY will save you some cha-ching from $200!

Thank all of you. I now have a direction to go to. I'm sure I can make do at the surplus site. And yes it's a univeral knuckle that goes over a round and slides on to a square shaft that attaches to another univ joint near the drive wheel. Thanks so much. wp

I had one go bad on a CaseIH chopper a few years ago. Where it went on the shaft was OK. I had another yoke here that was right, but where it went on the shaft was wrong. I took both of them to that machine shop on M57 over by Pompeii. They cut them apart, turned them down to fit each other and welded them together. Saved me a bunch of money and got me going the same day.
