replace rubber belting on jd corn chopper gathering chain

I'd like to replace just the rubber belting on the gathering chains on the corn head of a jd 3800 harvester and reuse the chain itself. This is the bolted on style, not riveted. all I'm finding are complete gathering chains online. Anyone know of a source for just the rubber belting?

Shoup used to keep that but they quit a few years ago. JD still offers it but the "kit" has all new bolts and is within a few dollars of what complete chains are if you buy them on sale.

It's been my experience that if the rubber is shot from normal wear, the chain is pretty well shot, too.

I would also suggest you really look at the chains before just going 1/2 way. chances are the chains are in need of replacement as well. What's more expensive... replacing the belts now, then all new chains, knives, shear bar later.... or just the chains complete now...
