Please identify this running gear

I recently bought this running gear from a local farmer. Please identify the make and tonnage of this gear if possible. In my parade wagon building hobby I use 3, 4, and 5 ton gears as they are easiest for me to work on and they certainly are strong enough for what I use them for. I suspect this gear is a heavier gear as the hitch and tongue are very heavy. The cross members at the rear axle are also larger than, say, a John Deere 953 or 963. The original color appears to be a bright orange, similar to an Allis Chalmers orange. The rims are 15", 6-bolt. I'm not yet convinced that I will keep this gear as it is, well, heavy.

Looks like a J&M wagon gear. They are a bright orange collar. Plus look at how the tongue is braced. Then also look at the tie rod assembly. I would guess I to be a 6 ton gear. I have had several 8 ton J&M gears and they had heavier tongues in them.

Could be a D Bradley. Grandpa Adolph had one, but that was back in the 60s. I don't remember anything about it now, cept those colors, and a green flat and box bed.

I don't know. I've got one just like it though. I'd always kind of thought it might be a Cobey or something.

I have a running gear very similiar to what you are describing by the orange color also. Mine is a Nu Built running gear made by Owatonna MFG. in Owatonna MN many years ago. My tie rods and front hitch setup are very much like yours in the pics too. I completely rebuilt it last Fall and put a gravity box on it. My gear is a 10 ton. Look closely to see if you can find any kind of serial tag on yours. Nu Built painted or decaled their name on their gears, at least that how mine is currently. Good luck.

JD Seller is right. With those clevis/bolt tie rod ends and that hitch, it's a J&M, and it does appear to be one of J&M's lighter ones.

If the steering has any slop at all, check those bolts. The holes in the spindles and hitch can slop out and/or the bolts can wear thin.
