I need to replace the cv joint pto shaft(tractor end) on my JD 467 rd baler. It has the later type with the female tube. Where's the best complete shaft for the $$$$$$$$$? $562 was the best price I've found.
Thanks,Jim

Someone at talk.newagtalk.com needed some pto parts for a
JD baler this week, he listed contact info for a firm that helped
him after others said they never found any 3rd party stuff?

Jim,
That's a pretty decent price for a new replacement, it's not much above cost.

There is a hay equipment salvage yard in Pa call Keiter's. There's two different ones, one deals with combines and the other hay equipment. I'm pretty sure this is the hay equipment one.

(quoted from post at 16:39:29 08/15/14) I think you better buy that one before they figure out they gave you the wrong price...

You're probably correct but the one I have the price for is just the front half!!!!!!! Man I hate CV joints.

Buy it now... Last one I bought for a discbine was I think about 1800 just for the joint... not shaft... and that was aftermarket. Mother Deere wanted over 3 grand for the same thing.

Jim, I just had to replace a 21 spline shaft on a
discbine. Mother Deere's price was astronomical.
Took it to an Amish welding shop up in Lancaster
county and they cut the old one off and welded a new
yoke on for $85. A new cross was $14.

I would check a shop that builds driveshafts for cars and trucks;the one I used for my bushhog had the coupler ends. They can build them longer or shorter too,if need arises.Mark

I have sourced quite a few items from Baum
Hydraulics in Nebraska, but not sure if they have
the CV style of stuff.

My local NH-MF- Gehl etc. dealer gets a lot of
stuff from Weasler, and is much more competitive
than JD. Sad to say, but it is. They get more
and more of my business.

Google can be your friend with some of the stuff,
too.

I'm curious- in the past, you've been a loyal
supporter of factory parts here... something
change?
