I came across this old planter and I"m trying to figure out the make and model. There are no noticeable markings that I can find, but a friend told me he thinks it"s a Oliver. Anyone know how I can find out for sure? Thanks Jared

Here's a picture of the planter. Thanks

Case or Oliver? I am familiar with a slightly newer Case, a lot looks familiar to me on the can latch, gear set, wheels, but I don't know what Ollie planters look like.

Do you have any seed plates that you can get a picture of or numbers off of? That could help, not saying it will but could. Perhaps any part numbers on any of the castings like fertilizer or seed box bottoms or the center of the wheels, any of the sprockets or bearing housings? Do you have the fertilizer boxes? Shape may also help.

Judging by the paint scheme my guess is Case. Case used a green / flambeau red paint scheme. Oliver implements are primarily green with color accents on wheels.

I do have the fertilizer and seed boxes as well as seed plates. The fertilizer box had PB2050 on the bottom, the seed box had PT 418 on the bottom, and one of the seed plates had PT 447 on it. Thanks again to everyone for all your help! I'm really hoping I can find the manual for this thing once I know more about it.

Bottom of last picture, look at the casting numbers. I think that's Old Abe the Case eagle sitting on the globe . . . .

Its a case planter as PT447 is a case corn plate. I have a K160 flex planter that I am guessing is from the late 50's or early 60's that uses the same plates. Your planter might be an earlier model "K…."
planter.
