invented my own implement

25 years of bricklaying has left me with a bad back,im always hurtin myself around the place lifting heavy stuff. For the sake of saving whats left of it I went on the hunt for a compact tractor with a bucket...(I have a 48 fergy with a forklift for the 3 point but it lifts in an arching motion and things tend to get out of shape when you lift very high).Didn't take long for me to realize I cant afford one :( So I looked for a small fork lift that runs in gravel and dirt...again they are expensive and I cant afford one.I saw a "tommy liftgate" on craigslist for $100.00 this got my creative wheels turnin and I got an idea! and its on the cheap!

I hacked all the truck frame mounts off and built my own 3 point mount! and came up with something that works great!I just wanted to share my project with the tractor cumminity since I couldn't find anyone that has done something so strange. To let y'all know it works and works damn good! 8)

heres a couple of videos of it operating and explain how it works.

Hope y'all enjoy the videos,FYI it will lift about 500 lbs and still be able to steer.Let me know what yeah think and am open to any suggestions to make it better!

Thanks ,Mike.

Good old American ingenuity, I like it a lot. The safety nut in me sez "put a vertical barrier between the tractor operator and the load so it don't bounce loose and land on your back!" Otherwise I think it is one of the cooler projects I have seen.

Absolutely, this was right after I built it and wanted to test it!I has a headache rack on it now with anchor points on each corner for strapping things down while in route.

And thanks! glad you like it.

Scaffold was the first thing that popped into my mind when I realized it would reach that high :D Like I mentioned I welded a headache rack and anchor points in.Now im thinking maybe some stake pockets and make some side rails for it maybe one with a flip up shelf to set tools on and a drink holder lol then it would make great portable scaffold....as long as the wife don't pop the clutch on me lol

put a 'remote' switch on the handrail.then you can
raise/lower at will without climbing(falling) down
each time you need to adjust.

Aaah yes, good idea. But then I would just have to take it to the next level and make the fergy remote control to move me place to place...Shame it don't have a hydro stat lol that would make it easy to remote the tractor!

Nice idea!!

For the idea of a remote control Fergy, how about a hydraulic motor attached to the PTO? It would be reversible at the flip of a lever. Steering could be a small cylinder attached to one of the drag links.
