JD 350 Rake Update

Me and the boys worked on the JD350 hay rake yesterday replacing the belt. A fair amount of penetrating oil and some elbow grease and we had the new belt on after a bit.

All the tines are there, I think next steps are - get it out of the trailer, grease everything and use it.

I have the New Idea version of that design. (It is 3pt, pto driven?) Like mine a lot. Does a nice job. Especially on turns, corners. Have several fields that are unusual shapes. Being able to pick it up and carry it where needed next is a real convenience.

Over the several seasons I have replaced a number of tines, some more than once, so find a cheap source and lay in a stock.

had one for many years. I liked the PTO arrangement as you can adjust the rake to the crop conditions and ground speed rather well. The 350 is not a "hay beater" that the ground driven rakes are. But check the rake for possible twisting..welds??..inconsistent ground clearance?
