When Dad worked at the school,he and the other bus mechanic made one to lay a wire under the football field. The used a rigid leg from an old Allis Chalmers cultivator rear gang. They welded a piece of angle iron across it for the lower 3 point pins and a yoke to the top for the center link, then a piece of pipe to the back of it to feed the wire through.

I have a hole torched into the front edge of the skidloader bucket. Usually used for spotting wagons, etc., but once I bolted a chisel plow shank to it to cut a trench for wire. Mounted loosely, it centered itself while driving backwards. Trench was easy to clean out with a tile spade.

Years ago , I built my own subsoiler with an adapter added for pulling wire or plastic pipe into the trench as I go forward . It automatically buries & covers the wires in one step . Its worked great for me in several jobs I did in my business . Its posted over on the ntractor site .God bless, Ken

Not sure if this would work for you, but a couple of years ago I made a trench with a 1 bottom plow to run an electrical cable to a machine shed. After I laid the cable in the trench, I just closed the furrow by rolling the sod back in by hand. I didn"t have electricity in a machine shed about 150 feet from my barn and got tired of running an extension cord every time I need to use a battery charger or some electrical tool. Al

Can you take a subsoiler and weld a short length of pipe to the back side of the'ripper'? Have someone walk along and feed the wire thru and it should go to bottom of the furrow. Then just drive back over the furrow with tractor tire and close the gap.Mark

The subsoiler suggestion works. Contractors and utility companies will bury cables and gas lines with a vibratory plow. You can rent vibratory plows.
