501 Ford Stabilizer Needed

I have the red version of the Ford 501 sickle mower. I broke the lateral stabilizer on the unit. It appears to be made of cast brass so I don't think I can weld or braze it. The ford part# is 145999. I desperately need one of these if someone has a parts donor out there. I would be willing to pay a fair price for it. Please reply with information if you have one available. Thanks in advance.[/img]

I don't think I can still get this item from Ford. I will call around today, but it's looking doubtful. I found nothing on the web as far as NOS or new items so that is why I have my doubts. It's also not an item that is easily broken. We broke ours while loading it on a trailer with a front loader. :(

John, I have a red 501 mower held for parts. I"m not sure what part you are looking for to determine if I still have it. Can you post picture?

Never got one with the 2 501 mowers we have used. If you
can get stable stabilizers on your tractor, no need for those
'funny clamps' on the mower. Never knew what they were for
actually when I saw them on other mowers for sale....

Anyhow you do have options, maybe. On the 960 tractor we
have inner stabilizers, work great! On the 1720 I use an outer
stablizer bar, or could turn in the chain and turnbuckle
stabilizers tight to work as well.

That reminds me, I need to get one of those turnbuckles
loosened up, its frozen......

Hey thanks David. If you go to this page for the diagram... I am looking for the bracket no.4 on Figure 3. You will have to scroll down a bit to get to fig. 3. Please let me know if you have this bracket.

Hey 12251HD, I cannot find an email address for you. The bracket on your mower is the correct one. Also, I would be interested in the front section of the slip yoke if yours has a good 6 spline connector on the tractor end. I just need the section of the shaft that slips off of the square shaft. Please let me know how much for each of these items. I might purchase one or both. Thanks so much. I think the bracket has an allen head set screw that holds it onto that pin, but I'm not sure. I haven't taken mine off just yet. Please give me a shout. I can paypal you the funds or pay over the phone. Just let me know.
