What the status if CCM and their mowers? I can find the home page but that's as far as I can get. Are they and The Hay Dr still around and supporting the mowers or what?

Apparently there was a parting of the ways and he was operating under a different name, but I can't recall what that is.

I believe this to be the HayDR current website (you will need to copy and paste into your browser):

http://www.haytools.com/

Here is Carter and Carter Machinery's current website which is who the HayDR was originally affiliated with :

There is info on this website if you wish to search about the break up. The HayDR is I believe the nephew of the two Carter and Carter owners which is sometimes called CCM.

Thanks. I was trying to determine if there is support still available for the CCMs. Found one locally, but I'm gun shy as far as buying something like that where consumables might be a problem.

I ran over a harrow in a field last year and tore up a drum. Beat it out with a hammer and a torch to get it to run until I could get a new drum. Called CCM and Haytools this spring and neither could get me a new drum at this time. I am beginning to regret buying the mower. Cuts great but a single source of parts is a problem...

Be careful...

Personally.. I think I'd steer clear of it anyway. I assume you're looking at a drum mower... but I haven't seen much but heartache with those things around here. They're ok for trimming ditches and road sides but they don't stand up to great to heavy continuous use. A disc mower makes a lot more sense if you're cutting a bunch of hay.

Agreed, times change and so do fashions. On this side of the big pond drum mowers have gone the way of sickle mowers . Its all disc mowers or disc mower/conditioners now. Having said that we were one of the first farmers in The UK to buy a drum mower in about 1968 (Disc mowers had not as yet arrived on the scene ) and believe me compared to a sickle mower it seemed to be out of this world.
