cleaning as sprayer

I've got to clean my spray from Roundup so I can spray some milk weeds with 2,4D. I've seen guys on here say to rinse the tank with ammonia. I'm wondering what concentration and does it destroy the roundup or just act as a way to clean it out. I've got a good hay field of timothy so all I want to kill is the milk weeds.

If you just rince the tank out well and spray plain water through it will be fine.I go from Roundup to 24D frequently.just do a thourow rince/wash.Have never had a problem. There wont be enough residue to hurt.I raise both gmo/rr corn and nongmo corn,so I spray both.

I do the same thing as Delta Red, just rinse it good, when switching weed killers.
I do use ammonia when going to an insecticide or when I'm going to put the sprayer away and not use it for a while.

Remember all the solution that is in your hoses and out to the ends of the booms.

That is where the triple rinsing part comes in.

So those hoses get cleaned out.

The amonia seems to help rinse the stuff out of the cracks and crannies.

I try to use up the spray.

Put 20 gallos in (100-300 gallon tanks here....)

Spray it out. This puts mostly clean water in the hoses.

Then put in 20 gallons, a half bottle of ammonia, run the pump a few minutes, and spray it out.

Putting in a few gallons of water, and spray that out to clear it out.

Always been good to go with that.
