john deere 1209 mower conditioner

i am having a problem 1209 john deere plugging up it cuts off fine but will not feed thru the rolls.
any ideas what to look for?

How low is the reel to the cutterbar? Have you tried changing the cam to alter the angle of the reel teeth? Is reel belt slipping? Is reel turning fast enough?

Tx Jim has it right..reel timing and reel positioning. The 1209/1219 series MoCos have a reasonably good operators manual that describes the reel positioning possibilities and what to do for various crops.. from short and thin to tall and thick. I suspect your reel timing/release is not at the proper hight( not high enough) to feed the crop material into the conditioning rolls...but this just a guess..owned a 1219 for many years..nice machine..but it had its quirks.
