IH 330 Disk Tires

I bought an IH 330 disk about a year ago and I need to get new tires for it. Trouble is, I can't figure out what size tires to buy. It's a 14' disk with 14" x 5", 4 bolt rims. The rims appear to be original. The tires that came on the disk were E78-14 on one side and F78-14 on the other. With the E78 tire, I have about 5/8" clearance to the leg of the lifting axle and with the F78, there's about 1/2" clearance. Also the paint is worn off the legs where the tires have been rubbing at some point. I measured the width of the E78 tire at the widest point of the sidewalls at 7-1/4". Given the minimal clearance I have, I don't think I can go with any wider tire. I've checked both the owner's manual and the on-line parts catalog, and neither gives any information about tire sizes. Likewise I've checked on-line for tire dimensions with little luck. Tire dealers have told me that either a 195/75-14 or a 205/75-14 car tire will match the E78, but I think these are wider. Another dealer told me that I need a 9.5L-14 implement tire. But on-line, I found that a 9.5L-14 is about 9.5" wide. This clearly will not work. So can anyone tell me what size tire to get? And for what it's worth, according to the on-line parts catalog, this disk was built from 1965 to 1975. I also know that it's virtually identical to an IH 350 disk. Any help would be appreciated.

A pair of 195/205x14 used automotive tires will work fine/perfect.A 225 will probably work, too. All it needs to do is just clear the 'axle'.Thousands/millions of farm implements have used car tires on them.A lot of dealers in the 'old days' sold new implements with worn out car tires on them. The guy who said to get (new) 9.5L14s clearly didnt have a clue....And he just want to sell you a set of tires!

Probably need to buy new as used tires are just not to be found, at least around here. So a 205-75-14" trailer should work good. and odd sizes on a disk will keep it from leveling.

7.25 inches x 25.4mm/inch = 184mm
A 185/75-14 tire is a very close to match the E78-14 tire's width and profile. Sometimes dealers must work with the tires they have in stock, especially with used tires. Use two matching size tires to best keep the disk level side to side.

Can you turn the wheels around to increase clearance?

To all who responded, thanks for the feedback. But I really don't think a 195 or a 205 will work. For example, a 205 is about 8" wide. With the E78 I have now, the tire is about 7-1/4" wide at the sidewalls and I have about 5/8" clearance. If I go 3/4" wider, my clearance will be reduced 3/8" to about 1/4". Does anyone know what tire size this disk was originally designed for?
