New Holland 271 Square baler

Hello, I have a New Holland 271 small square baler. About a year and half ago I was baling with it and it was doing a pretty good job. It is old and I don't push it too hard. We only bale about 200 or so square bales a year we round bale everything else. So it has been perfect for that. I broke a chain i think and also the bar that is between the fingers or teeth that feed the hay into the chamber bent. I fixed the chain and straightened the bar. I thought I had it back in time but it still will not run. The teeth or fingers seem to be riding up on the bar. Just wondering what you think what might be the problem. I haven't used it since and of course I would like to get it back running now. Sorry that this is so long. Any help would be appreciated.

There are timing marks for the plunger, feeder bar/',Knotters,stuffer'.They must all line up at once. There should be a diagram decal ,most likely in the string box. Now,that said,You need a book ASAP! there you will find all the info to make your baler 'sing'!At around 40 bucks, the cheapest thing you will EVER buy for your baler.Same thing also applies to tractors......

My NH271 has the timing instructions right in the twine box. I had the main drive chain break and used that. By the way when you replace a chain it has to have the exact number of links as the old chain or it will NEVER stay in time

Will be the same as my 270, they are the same baler you have an extra joint in the pto and hitch is a tad different is all.

Not sure I know what to say as to what is wrong with yours?
