What would you suggest?

I have a disk that I have to store outside. I just bought it last fall. I put grease on the disks and thought that would stay on for a long time. Well it didn't last past spring. Years ago when he was alive my Dad mixed some type of grease and used oil together and it seemed to last all year. Any one have suggestions on what to cover the disks with to keep them from rusting?

Paint is supposed to work but you have to get all the dirt off the discs. I tired used oil and it helped on plows. What worked better was stiff grease, not grease gun grease but the older type of wheel bearing grease that's real stiff and sticky. Don't even know where to get it anymore.

I used a paint-on from TSC. Comes in a gallon can.
In the spring I would take a wide putty knife and scrape most of it off. I also tried it one year without scraping it off and came off just from dirt sliding over it. Put it on thick with an old paint brush.
