New Idea #4 Rake/Tedder Part

Greetings. I am in need of the gear that switches the rake to a tedder. Not sure what it is called. Does anyone out there know where I can find parts for the New Idea #4??? Thanks in advance..

M 298 is the clutch casting and new cast are avaible as also are steel. my frioend has 3 new ones he made in the shelf as the new cast ones keep breaking.

M336 is the bevel gear and sprocket, 14 tooth gear and 18 tooth sprocket

56 ME is bevel gear with clutch hub, 20 tooth 1 7/16" bore used lots 170 to 192 but is a improved gear evidently as M345 was used on lots 116 to 169 and says to order 56ME. this is the rake gear.

M 295 is Internal gear,40 teeth, 1 7/16" bore used lots 116 to 192. This is the ted gear.

Now lot 116 is the first 4 bar No. 4 rake built in 19489 while lot 169 is the last No. 4 built in 1953 and No. 170 starts the No. 44 rake in 54 to Lot 192 ending production in 1958. Lot 57 started the 3 bar production in 1934 and ended with lot 115 in 1947. Now all those parts are the same as in fit for all 3 and 4 bar rakes from 1934 to 1958.

Not sure if new ones are avaible or not as I have not had to check but sure I could come up with used on the gears. Next week before could do any checking as leeving in a couple of hours for weekend.

Right now I just finnished rebuilding and delievered on to dealer for resale, anouther just ready to start assembling after paint, just brought home one from dealer to rebuild for him. Had one setting here for years that is comming up in line possibly first of next year and monday I pick up anoughter for rebuilding that was just bought. This dealer has sold as last count I had 9 steel wheel rakes this year, yes he is Amish. Email me and I am sure I can help you.
