JD 71 Throwing Chain Update

I got new chain--had to go to Mother Deere--but it made a big difference. The old chain was quite worn and stretched. I imagine the "S" sprockets are also worn. Will be a good winter project. The two chains they gave me were twice as long as needed. I made both new chains out of one and can return the other one. I tried two or three local sources but no one had that chain. It takes a 65-86 link. Thanks again for all your help.

Had a hunch that was it. Not too expensive, and simple. Most of the time anymore I suspect the chain first.

Don;

That's what I need is simple!!!! I really like the planter--not many moving parts. There are a total of four sprockets and the chain. Even I can handle that although I did have my BIL take a link pin out. He has the tools.
