Drag harrows

Does anybody still make a spike tooth drag harrow? We had one when I was growing up. The spikes would adjust to lean forward or backward. All I see now have something like chain links to drag, and I would like to find one of the old type if they are still made. Thanks for any info. Tommy

Tom: I see quite a few spike harrows at farm equipment auctions in Tennessee. They are the old type. Never paid much attention to what the bids came to. I see some every once in a while at American Auctioneers auction in Calhoun, Ga. This is a consignment auction they have about 4 times a year.

Just saw five 4 foot sections JD spike tooth with 6" left on spikes and all levers in working shape go for $55 I found out later regrettably that the scrap man bought it.

I like goin to an auction that has one or two sections. The food ploters will fight for em and pay a lot of money for a single section. I do have a 20' 4 section that gets use a bunch.

Thank ya'll for your info on the drag harrows. I hears that Tsc and also agri supply may sell them. I will check to see what I can find. I just want one to use in a garden to smooth up behind a disc harrow. It leaves bad ridges that I can't get out. I have adjusted the set on the front and rear gangs but still ain't right. Thanks, Tommy

I have one that I use from time to time. The problem with them is that if you have any sod present, it builds up under them and you have to dump them.
