Forage Wagon

I was wondering if anybody has seen any sold at auction in the last several months? I wanted to do some composting and a forage wagon would make that nice to do. Primarily looking for an older JD that is in decent condition.

Look around on auctionzip and in Lancaster Farming. You may have to look for a bit, but they're out there. If you hit the right sale, you may be able to find an open box for about $1k....

I've seen some tired looking older Gehls and Papecs for 500 to 750 including gear at auction this past spring. A NH 716 with tandem gear but very beat for 1100. A few annual summertime sales are coming up so we shall see. Since I am not doing very much with it as opposed to filling silo I wanted to get something for a 1000 and maybe run a flat rack on the gear when I did not need the self-unloading portion.

I know Deere made them but what was dairy country here, now about gone, there were never any Deere that I ever heard of. They were homemade beds to start then Gehl started showing up and that was 95% of the beds till Gehl went out of business, now I see a few Badgers. But I have never seed a Deere bed.

There are two Deere Chuck wagons next to the road with for sale signs on them on the road between Charlevoix and Elk Rapids, Michigan. They are large late models with tandem rear axle gears and metal roofs. I don't know where you live but I would think that good Chuck wagons would be hard to find.
