3pt sprayer vs pull type

Using a 300 gallon pull type sprayer right now.
Old sprayer and the booms bounce a lot. Sprayer
would be easy to convert to 3pt. Would i get less
bounce with a 3 pt? Or what can i do to help with
the bounce? I only spray at 6 mph the way it is.
 
How big of a tractor do you have? I have a 200 gallon 3pt. I use it on my Oliver 1850 and used to use it on a 4040 Deere. Loaded,it's scary if you have much of a hill to go up. I wouldn't even try 300 gallons.
They do ride smoother mounted though for sure.
 
I prefer a pull type.The tractor isnt carrying such a load.300 gallons is 2400 lbs.Plus the weight of the sprayer.Thats a lot of wt.Even on a big tractor.
 
I had success splicing a spring into the support chains of my sprayer booms. All but eliminated the boom bounce, however the sprayer boom is only 21 feet. I considered boomless nozzles, but have read the application rate can vary as much as 20% from one side of the spray swath to the other.
 
300 gallon sprayer. 7600 deere or 7710 ford mfwd. Deere has 5 weights on the front..im guessing id have to add a couple. Also have to buy some weights for the ford if i wanted to use it.
 

I have a 300 gallon 3 pt Century. 30' boom. I only put 200 gallons in it. It works well on my JD 730D with a square axle wide front and 5 New Gen slab weights. I make sure to do any hilly areas after spraying out about half of it.
 
I used to use a mounted Hardi MX 1000 ( 1000 litres = 1 metric ton of water or 2204 pounds ) with 12 metre booms mounted on a Massey 168 , later a 781s (78 hp ) Renault up hill and down dale with no problems, even late in the season when I ran the tractor on 'thin' rowcrop rear wheels. The 168 did need a few front weights though! :lol:
 
l run a 300 gallon century on a 90 horse tractor it handles it fine mine has a shock absorber built into the boom
