What is the difference between narrow row planter and wide row. I was interested in buying a 7000 and wanting 30 inch rows. planting corn and beans.

Then you want a narrow row planter set up for 30". You cannot easily change a wide row to narrow on a 4 row model.

There is a conservation model with everything clamped to a main frame, these can be converted. But are rare in a 4 row.

Most small 7000 models have fixed rocker axle with a single hyd cylinder to lift.

You would need to torch and rewelded the wheels onto the rocker shaft.

Then the marker arms are too long, and won't adjust narrow enough. So you have to run the far front wheel of the tractor in the marker, not centered on the tractor.

Paul has the correct info. I owned a 7000 Conservation 4 row and it had frame mounted whels, not rockshaft mounted.

The narrowest a 4RW 7000 planter can be set is 36 inches
