494a planter gearbox

apparently i have the wrong book for my planter. my book dont show a gearbox. does anyone have a book to show the ratio's? i'm on the 11 tooth drive and 7 tooth driven which my book says is 24000 pop. based on the weight of my left over corn, i'm around 19000. i'm on 36 inch rows. done for this year, but want to know where i should be for next year.

The newer 494A planters do not have a gearbox. Yours is the first style and the book for the plain 494 is what you need for that, for the dry fertilizer you need the newer book as fertilizer was started being made differently so the rates for the non gera box style would be correct for fertilizer rates but for seed you need an older book. What is your shift lever on, 2,3 or 4? With that we can tell you what your rate is.
 
There is a number for each notch. Tomorrow after I get done with my blood work tests I will try to check my planters and books.
 
The shift lever the closest position to the gearbox is 4, middle is 3 and other is 2.
drilling distance first with 16 cell plate, next is 24 cell plate, then shift lever position, drive sprocket, driven sprocket then 36" row population. 5.8"; 3.8"; 4; 18; 7; 30,011 / 6.6"; 4.4": 4; 18; 8; 26,374 / 7.8"; 5.2"; 3; 18; 7; 22,315; This is setting I used with 16 cell plates / 8.8"; 5.9"; 3; 18; 8; 19,780 / 9.5"; 6'3"; 4; 11; 7; 18,322 / 10.9"; 7.2"; 4; 11; 8; 15,986 / 11.6"; 7.7"; 2; 18; 7; 15,006/ A 24 cell plate will plant 1 and a half times as much as a 16 cell plate and a 16 cell plate will plant 2/3 as much as a 24 cell plate. So the 15,006 at 16 cell using a 24 cell will be 21,509 per acre. I could go on with wider plant spacing but don't think yoy should need them.
 
so the population's that you posted here are for the 16 cell plate so I can convert those for the 24?
so if I'm running the 11 & 7 gears on number 4 with 16 cell would be 18,322 and 24 cell would be 27,483?
