316 New Holland square bale

I am looking at a NH 316 baler, are they good balers like most
NH hay equipment and is it a high capacity baler

Good? YES! Its a midsize square baler. Still makes 14 x 18 bales. Next size up; the 326 is considered high capacity; But makes a larger 16 x 18 bales. Recommended HP is 60 minimum compared to the 311 at 40 HP. I have kicked out up to 11, or 12 bales per minute several times with a 92 HP (JD 3055) tractor in front. Also have a 66 PTO (IH 666G) which never was able to get 11 bales without bogging the tractor down more than I wanted. But even 8 bales/minute was enough for me!

We have a 316. Good baler, grandpa bought new. Don't use it much anymore....maybe 1500 bale/year. All else is thru the BR740A round baler.....

I don't know that it is a high capacity machine, but you can bale 1500+ bales in a GOOD day with it. Run ours with a 6400 Deere mostly now (cab & AC!)

I've had real good luck with mine. Reliable and good capacity. I pull thrower wagons behind it, and have some real steep ground, and it's also got enough weight so the wagons don't push it around bad.
