How does one Get The tire on the closing wheel

The rim for the closing wheel is in two halves, held together with 3 screws from each side. Take the screws out and take the rim apart. You may have to heat the screws to get them out.

If you replace existing Philips head screws with current hex head screws, the next dis assembly is much easier.

Are you talking about the closing wheel or the gauge wheel tires closing wheel tires go on easy the gauge wheel tire can be a bear to get back on the wheel halves?

Put the tire on just one wheel half. Then put second half on axle housing correctly and pound it on with large rubber mallet. Put the back on a 6x6 or a stump.

Put it in a large pan of boiling water to soften it is what I do.
