New Holland 499 haybine year?

I'm buying a 499 haybine, serial# 551559. Does anyone know what year this machine was made? It has a 25th anniversary sticker on it also, and the Ford blue oval.

Any operating & maintenance tips that you can offer would be appreciated. I'm cutting alfalfa and alfalfa/timothy/orchard grass mix. Will be running it with an 1100 Massey (94HP.) The machine comes with the drawbar extension. It also has the hydraulic setup that changes the cutter bar angle when the machine is lifted. Current owner was able to show me it running behind the tractor. Overall condition is pretty good, sheet metal is straight, so it doesn't look like it was beat up too bad. Rollers are good, have a couple of dime-sized cracked spots, but should be fine for cutting 3 crops per year on 25 acres.

I have to tow it home next week about 150 miles. Owner will repack the wheel bearings. Tires look good, but I'll take a spare 11x14 with me. I'm replacing my 925 9' Massey mower conditioner before it has a major breakdown.

My trade guide puts it as a 1991 model. They did a fairly good job as long as you had a good sections and guards. They have fell in value as the market has moved to disk cutter bars.

When you tow it make sure and lock the swing on the tongue. They can drift out or in without a tractor on the hydraulic cylinder. I remember there being a swing lock but not if it was a pin or just a valve on the cylinder.
