Went today to look at 4 row narrow 7000 today with a friends son the guy is asking $5000 for it.The planter need a complete rebuild if Shoup's has it it need it.He thinks it is a good deal his dad and I don't. I know a 4 row is hard to find in SE Tn.We said about $2000 is all it is worth. What do you all think about the asking price?

Run a total on all of the parts this planter needs. If it is as bad as you say, you could spend a lot. I'd say $2,500 is plenty for this planter, in the condition it is in. Keep looking...you will find another one.

I went to a consignment sale Saturday and both 7000 4 rows went for over 4,000 dollars each. One was pretty good and the other fairly mediocre. A lot of demand for those and the last 7000 4 row I saw sold for under 2,000 dollars was strictly a parts machine. Corn pushing 5 dollars a bushel has brought out the wild eyed optimists again. I have a wish list of ten to twelve pieces of equipment and it is frustrating to buy things at the "right" price. I passed up 2 JD 970 harrows that I thought were a little high in the mid 4,000 range. I will wait for something not so nice so I can buy it at a more reasonable price.

I bought a 4 row 7200 this winter as a project. It has a zone till attachment on it. It needed everything. Tires, coulters, openers, bearings, chains, bushings, meters, wiring, monitor... I am going to be close to $4000 in parts(only a few from Deere).

A new one was $26,000 plus options/freight, probably in the 30s the way this one is set up.

Around here it would be a $4-5000 planter if it has dry fertilizer, not a rust bucket, and is all there.

Bought a 6 row several years ago it need everything for $4200 thought I got a good deal. After looking at another one that a dealer wanted $10,000 and it sold in the next day same shape need everything.
He needs to think how much a new one will cost and how much he need to spend to get this one into shape.

We bought a 6 row dry, pop up and 3 coulter Rawson for
4500.00 in 2013. And in the process of sticking 4000 in to it.
Does it come with bean meters and and corn meters? Are the
pickups Precision meters?

Around here any of the 30 inch 7000 planters have shot up in
price. Used to be cheap, but a 6 row is around $10,000 any
more.

Don't even see 4 row narrow, the 38 inch ones bring $3000.

Be a little room to haggle, but wouldn't be a far off asking price
'here'.

Anything cheaper than that gets bought up by the jockeys,
they rebuild the good parts into 8 row pull type and ship to
Russia and Mexico, and the left over parts get cut down into 2
row plot planters for $1500.

I do not think you would find one for $2000, that you did not put $2000-$3000 in it. It is not hard to put several hundred dollars in each row.

Ok I got to know what makes these 4 row planters
worth so much? Around here not even many 6-30 left.
Everything is 12-30 and bigger. And 7000 deers are
getting old. I may have a 5100 white 4-38 in
excellent condition for sale. What would it be
worth?
