pricing OLD implements.

Ive got a JD sulkey and JD Gang plow. They are both in excellent condition save they don't have the tongues. They have yet OLD green and yellow paint flaking on them.
I thought to price them at $500 for the sulkey, and $1000 for the gang as they were so much fewer in number made.
I have a horse and tractor set of 2 row planters. Both in perfect working order. The tractor planter model # might be 402 or 204. It looks just like a horse planter other than beefier made up and no seat and a rope trip.
I want to sell these. What do you think is a good price for them?
Im in NE Okla.

Not trying to be bearer of bad news but round here in N. FL most older stuff sells for scrap prices. On occasion you can find a buyer looking for a specific piece and get good $$ but most times it is sold for scrap prices.

Price away but your not likely to get that for either one. Now days horse pulled stuff which I think your saying they are sell as lawn look at me stuff or scrap

Yep,scrap.If-if you hauled them to heavyly populated Amish country you might get more....But you would spend ALL(and then some) the 'profit' on fuel.....

We've got a heavy Amish population around here, and if things like that show up on a consignment auction, more often than not the scrappers still buy them. The seller might better have saved himself the commission, took the scrappers profit and hauled them to the crusher themselves.

About $75 to maybe $100 for the single bottom, and same to less on the gang. They have lost their value.
If the single bottom only runs on two wheels, not three, there would be a market for it, but my guess is it has the typical 3 wheels.
Hate to see them go to scrap, but probably where they would end up. Bob

Horse equipment is not selling very good now, People are not keeping draft horses as a hobby, feed cost or house payment?
Try ad in small farmer's journal or find a pioneer or farm state park, See if you can get a tax write off if you donate the equipment to them? Might be better then going to the scraper?

just throw it in the flower bed and let it sit.
NOT every thing has to get scrapped just because there is not a good price for it ...
by the time you haul it in for scrap ( time & gas ) is hardly covered ........................

Some of the sulky plows are still worth good money, just do not know what models. The gang plow none around to know. Trying to figure out make of your planter. the 402 number that I know of was an Oliver tractor 4 row clutch lift planter. Are you about ready to start using that Case rake? Have deep snow here yet.

LEROY, As I said I thought the planter was a #402, OR #204. Its an IHC rope trip planter, 2 row.
I plowed the ground for haygrazer 3 weeks ago. 12 acres. Got 2 Case rakes, and a JD to choose from. Always have generally used the JD. All Steel wheeled.
