Hi Guys, I am asking for some ideas for my neighbor, he has a 848 N.H. Chain Baler, the rubber is about 80% gone off the stripper roller, New Holland does not make these rollers any more, dealers are out, I found one in a salvage yard, but rubber was 1/3 gone, any ideas how to get some grip on this roller ? or any one know of a 848 baler that can be bought for parts ? Thanks.

I helped a guy that had an 855 that was the same way. he didn't want to pay what they wanted for the new roller so he stripped the rest of the rubber off and welded on 3/8 rods spaced out about every 2 inches. Seemed to work pretty well when he was done.

I read on another forum, where a guy used garage floor paint, and added sand to it while the paint was still damp. Said it worked well.

Glad to hear someone else did that. We saw that a vermeer had those little bars and just copppied that. Worked super on my brothers baler. I wonder if that pick up bed liner paint would work???
